Questions concering the use of BTA
Posted: 08 Jun 05 7:49 PM (Greece)

The use of Benzotriazol (BTA) in Greece is very popular and different laboratories use different methods of application. Also, it is a common approach to use BTA in all copper alloy objects (mostly in archaeological ones) no matter what the corrosion products are.

What is your opinion towards these remarks?

Do you think it is necessary to use BTA in all types of corrosion products?

Which, by your experience, is the best way of application?

You might use it as a solution, that is mean, you to dissolve a certian concentration of BTA in water organic solvent like ethanol or methanol and then immerse your object for several hours.
